I saw so many, too many, temples, forts and palaces. They were beautiful, and I'm sure the history of them is fascinating, but with explanations as incomprehensible as that below, the information about these historic places went way over my head. Too many technical and architectural terms, names of places and time periods, and Indian words made the descriptions, given by both signs by the temples and by guides, made me lost interest in the history.

Flowers on the temple grounds.

This exact wording was on signs at tourist sights all over India. The grammar seems very off to me.

There is a complex with a group of eight temples. Here is a view of one of the temples, with a fantastic spire. Not only were these temples nice, but the grounds were also among the cleanest and well kept I saw in India. There is a debate on the history of the temples and why there are so many carvings depicting sexual acts. One theory is that the temples were used by tantric cults for ritualized sex.

Carvings from the temple walls. Most of the carvings were not sexual, but most of the pictures I took were of the sexual carvings. The first pictures is either three independent couples, or an orgy.

A man satisfying a horse. The man to the horse's right looks disgusted.

In these two, there is one man satisfying three women. Maybe this was a common fantasy in India.

Quite explicit!

I am not sure what this carving depicts.
