Just a few weeks before, I had sent Jenny, the girl I met in Beijing, an email to see how she was, but they bounced back and I wondered if I would ever talk to her again. I knew it might end up that we wouldn't. Then, on August 1, she emailed me out of the blue, from a new email address. She let me know her boyfriend had her passwords to her other addresses and that maybe it was better if we used this one, better for our friendship (and better for talking about him).

She will be going to England to study this fall.

She reminded me to check out Hubei, the province in China where she is from, since it has lots of good snacks. 

I hope we can stay friend and become closer friends, but I do not know how that could happen. I did let her know I would join her in Hubei if she wanted, if she was visiting her hometown before leaving the country.
