Should I have known about my surprise party, given all of the following
strange happenings?
- Jonathan asked me, well in advance, not to make any plans for my first
weekend home
- Jonathan set up a dinner for me and Hue, with the excuse that Hue would
give me a book. At the dinner, Hue did not even have the book.
- Jonathan asked me for the phone number of my friend, who is an IT
recruiter, to give to his friend Dash, who is in finance. She is a woman,
but Dash has a girlfriend and she has a boyfriend.
- Once home, my mom asked me for a previous co-worker of mine's phone
number, Beverly. She said she ran into Beverly jogging and that Beverly
suggested they go jogging together. My mom jogs a twelve-minute mile and Beverly
nine, not close by a long shot.
- When I got home from the country, before meeting Hue for dinner, I noticed
the bathroom did not have the shelf and hamper in it. The shelf in the
bathroom was new and I thought it was very convenient but both it and the hamper
were in the bedroom. There was also some beer lying around.
- Jonathan and my mom said they spent a lot of the day cleaning the house.
- Jonathan wanted me to get dressed up and look good, for no reason. He was
very nicely dressed. I asked him why and he did not have a reason. He said
he had no plans. Why would he dress up for no reason AND have no plans on a
Saturday night?
- Jonathan said Hue would be a little late but had me wait at the restaurant
because she would only be a few minutes late. The restaurant, Saigon Grill,
serves fast, and this may have been because he was stalling for time but
wanted me out of the house to set up. He wanted me gone between 7 and 8 and
told people to get there between 7:30 and 8.
