Tuesday:
Tuesday we got up, took a swim, and then had breakfast with the girl with two black eyes. She started saying that we should exchange email addresses, and we agreed, but we never gave her the emails. We flew back in the late morning. Jon ate Dash’s ham croissant on the plane even though he didn’t like it at all. We got back to BA and booked our flight to Mendoza for later in the day. We went back to the apartment to drop stuff off and then walked around the Las Cantas (some other name) area in BA. It was very nice and was near the polo grounds. Later that night we flew to Mendoza. We got to Mendoza in the early evening as it was getting dark, but it was obvious that we were going to like it there. We hadn’t scheduled a hotel so we just called a place randomly and made a reservation. The cab driver brought us there and it seemed fine, not great, and we stayed. The only problem was that when Dash laid on the bed, his feet went off the end by about 2 feet. No big deal.
After getting our stuff situated we wanted to go eat at a famous restaurant that wasn’t exactly in the city. We tried getting a cab for a really long time, maybe 30 minutes before finally succeeding. The restaurant was definitely off the beaten path, but it was very worth it. One magazine said that it was the 7th best restaurant in the world. It was called Francis Mallman 1884 Restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, maybe an A, and the wine was also good. We got the same wine that we had liked at Cluny, but for some reason it wasn’t as good. Maybe it was the company. The people sitting next to us were from Long Island. The woman was surprised that Jon guessed that, but her accent couldn’t have been more obvious. They were kind of lame, but we asked them about the wine tours that they had taken. They said that three wineries was more than enough for one day, so we kept that in mind when we planned our next day. We tried as hard as we could to do the polar opposite.
